Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience (6 years with a Master's degree)
  • Broad experience with processes and materials used to make Actively Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) including semiconductor technology, microelectronic assembly, surface mount technology and materials for RF performance
  • Expertise in manufacturing system engineering processes and products throughout the program life cycle, as well as providing technical leadership and guidance
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and communication including associated tools and methods
  • Experience in managing both internal and external personnel and teams to include subcontractors
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance
  • US Citizenship required
Responsibilities
  • Engaging with the MLSS business units during pre-proposal and proposal program phases to offer insight into higher yielding, novel, and evolving manufacturing processes
  • Developing a Manufacturing Plan for each phase of the program
  • Performing a Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRA)
  • Leading design for automation efforts
  • Cost Modeling and Design to Cost activities
  • Developing Manufacturing Maturity Plans (MMP) which includes but is not limited to executing Affordability, Manufacturing Planning, Capital Planning and Strategic Sourcing Efforts
  • Manufacturing lead for Division Capture Strategy Decisions - includes interfacing with MLSS Business Unit to stay current with new concepts and proposal programs
  • Division OSE Lead - Represent MLSS within the Sector MSE Functional Working group to define and establish the MSE role
  • Waynesboro Consultation – Provide guidance & technical oversite to the Waynesboro team (Pillar Leads & MSEs) on execution framework and path forward
  • Division IRAD Lead – Engage across all MLSS sites to determine IRAD needs and work with sector team to secure funding
  • Division MTA Lead – Engage across all MLSS sites to determine MTA needs & priorities
  • MLSS Representative to Sector for World Class Operations & Digital Transformation teams to ensure alignment with division strategy
  • Functional MSE Manager - Maintain team affordability and advance team effectiveness; ensure team resources and skills are in place to meet both technical and financial objectives; promote career development and employee engagement; assess employee performance
  • Brief Sector Manufacturing, Business Division and Enterprise Leadership on division advanced mfg strategy, projects and progress
Desired Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of manufacturing process engineering related experience
  • Experience as an Manufacturing Leader in many of the phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution
  • Experience rapidly assessing and lending guidance to projects assigned to the organizational group as well as demonstrated mentoring and guidance to engineers
  • Experience in recruiting and developing engineering talent
  • Experience with analytical problem decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, solution implementation
  • Experience showcasing a department’s capabilities & benefits to existing and potential customers to secure funding & support development activities
