Career Opportunity- Director of Regional Advocacy and Engagement with Kentucky Nonprofit Network (KNN) in Louisville, Kentucky

As the Director of Regional Advocacy and Engagement with KNN, you will be at the forefront of building and nurturing diverse, powerful, nonpartisan local/regional advocacy coalitions that amplify the collective voice of the nonprofit sector. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving policy changes and partnerships that benefit the nonprofit sector, and the individuals and communities nonprofits serve. You will drive the recruitment of local/regional KNN Coalition memberships, and support and facilitate their creation of a unified voice and collaborative partnerships to ensure a nonprofit seat at the decision-making table.
KNN is a small and highly impactful organization that is making a difference for the success of nonprofits in Kentucky. We are expanding our team to strengthen and expand our ability to engage, partner, and collaborate with both our new and existing members statewide. We are searching for two full-time hybrid positions, one based in Lexington and one based in Louisville.
Pay range starts at $90,000 but will increase based on years of relevant experience. Includes generous paid time off and benefits.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders. You will need strong knowledge of nonprofit advocacy and legislative processes, as well as experience setting legislative priorities and building bipartisan consensus – especially among diverse perspectives. You will also need to have exceptional facilitation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively articulate complex issues to diverse audiences.
Requirements include:
- A proven track record of successful coalition-building, advocacy, lobbying, and/or community organizing experience.
- Current or previous nonprofit executive or C-suite experience with a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector and the challenges facing nonprofit leaders/executives.
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking.
- Flexibility and adaptability with shifting priorities while maintaining focus on goals.
- Project management experience.
- Understanding of nonprofit sector challenges, including time and resource constraints to effectively engage in advocacy.
- Strategic thinking and innovative engagement strategies.
- Commitment to championing diversity, equity, and inclusion, both within KNN and in our work with the sector.
Other qualifications desired, but not required:
- Local lobbying experience.
- Experience developing and planning relevant, timely educational content that meets the professional development needs of nonprofit leaders.
- Experience helping nonprofits address diversity, equity, and inclusion opportunities to strengthen their organization.
- Experience with implementing strategic marketing and communications strategies that will drive membership and engagement.
