Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent business experience is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing and developing complex business systems, preferably in the Property & Casualty insurance industry, is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of core business analysis practices and the use of various business analysis techniques is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit, prioritize, document, and organize requirements is required.
  • Ability to document and analyze business and system processes is required.
  • Ability to provide recommendations for business and system processes is required.
  • Experience with requirements estimation is required.
  • Experience with the full software development life cycle, including requirements, design, testing, and support in an agile environment, is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical staff and convey complex ideas verbally and in writing is required.
  • Ability to collaborate with project sponsors, governance groups, and core project and delivery team participants is required.
  • Ability to share knowledge and train others is required.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously is required.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively on medium to large projects is required.
  • Demonstrated timely delivery of projects is required.
  • Ability to professionally manage challenging situations is required.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the development team and business managers to solve problems.
  • Provide status updates to team leads, project managers, and delivery managers.
  • Act as the primary liaison between users and information technology project and delivery teams.
  • Communicate and interact with appropriate areas about changes and enhancements affecting data, workflow, and functionality.
  • Participate in and implement the Business Systems Analyst Center of Excellence services, standards, and development.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Analyze and identify the sources of application problems and work with information technology to resolve them.
  • Perform preliminary analysis to determine the sources of discrepancies between actual and expected results.
  • Plan, document, evaluate, and track results to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and coordinate resolution with programming staff to ensure system changes are appropriate and viable.
  • Ensure internal product stakeholders' needs and expectations are met and promote transparency through agile practices.
  • Participate in demand and steering committees to assist with the analysis and sizing of business work requests.
  • Collect and define requirements, translate them into functional design documents, and participate in technical design, test planning, and user documentation processes.
  • Create mock-ups, wireframes, and other documents supporting functional requirements and sponsor sign-off.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned business domains and systems.
  • Work on projects or assist other Business Systems Analysts with larger or more complex projects and strategic efforts.
  • Work closely with architects, developers, quality assurance, and end users to ensure developed functionality meets requirements.
  • Work with users and peers to analyze business processes and plan, develop, implement, and support new or existing applications.
  • Keep current with market trends and demands.
  • Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.
  • Travel, including overnight travel, as required.
