Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly within medical devices, electromechanical systems, capital equipment calibration and validation, or related regulated industries.
  • Hands-on experience with Good Documentation Practices and regulated environments.
  • Proficiency with assembly tools including torque wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, multimeters, and presses.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekend shifts, in response to business needs.
Responsibilities
  • Perform intermediate-level electromechanical assembly of robotic system modules, including joints, control modules, and cable harnesses, using engineering documentation and established work instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Operate within a structured production line environment to meet daily build targets while maintaining compliance with ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulation, and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Interpret and apply assembly procedures to build, verify, and validate mechanical and electromechanical components across multiple product modules.
  • Conduct functional, electrical, and mechanical tests using calibrated tools, test fixtures, torque equipment, and multimeters.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues, including miswiring, misalignment, and sensor faults, and escalate complex or systemic issues to engineering.
  • Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs to support production continuity, escalating complex issues to engineering.
  • Maintain compliance with electrostatic discharge controls, clean manufacturing protocols, and contamination-control standards for medical device manufacturing.
  • Document production activities, test outcomes, and inspection data in manufacturing execution systems, enterprise resource planning/SAP, and electronic device history record systems following Good Documentation Practices.
  • Perform in-process inspections and contribute to quality verifications to ensure adherence to workmanship and regulatory standards.
  • Provide feedback on assembly sequences, documentation accuracy, and fixture and tool improvements to assist with process updates.
  • Support manufacturing engineering with line setup, fixture validation, new product introduction builds, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support training, knowledge-sharing, and guidance for new or entry-level technicians.
  • Prepare production lines through line clearance, equipment maintenance and calibration-status verification, and material-readiness checks.
  • Perform material transactions and cycle counts of raw materials, subassemblies, and work in progress, and identify and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Maintain certification and demonstrate proficiency on at least three designated modules while meeting safety, quality, and training requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to work with Kanban operations, manufacturing execution systems, and software-based test procedures.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems such as ComplianceWire, manufacturing execution systems, SAP, or similar systems.
  • Exposure to robotics or surgical device assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with calibration and validation activities for electromechanical or robotic systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, assembly instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including use of a multimeter, grounding, and isolation for problem-solving.
  • Experience with administrative support, agile manufacturing, assembly operations, factory acceptance testing, good manufacturing practices, manufacturing processes, manufacturing science and technology, mechanical equipment, plant operations, prototyping, repair management, structural fabrication, or similar manufacturing competencies.
