About our Technology Team
The Engineering team at Databook brings together collaborative and technically passionate individuals to deliver innovative customer intelligence solutions that drive real value for our clients. Led by past Google and Salesforce engineers, this group offers an opportunity to explore all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, to be close to the client, and to make a real difference. We give our engineers a lot of autonomy to own and solve complex, novel problems - from system design to natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML). The Engineering team offers a place where engineers can collect an abundance of experience and practice their leadership skills; all in a hyper-growth context.
The Opportunity
Data is core to the value Databook provides to our customers. The intelligence, insights, analysis and recommendations that we deliver are all based on sophisticated approaches to bringing together and understanding many disparate types of data that reflect the state of the world.
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Core Data team you will be solving complex and novel problems to make it easier and quicker for us to deliver even more value across 1st, 2nd and 3rd-party datasets. You will be designing and building solutions for high performance ingestion, storage and analysis of data to surface real-time recommendations and interactive experiences. Pre-loading and caching policies, dynamic extension and access controls, data dependencies and time travel are some of the gnarly problems you’ll get to work on.
Specifically you will:
- Design and build components for our Meta DB; a heterogeneous platform that brings together structured, unstructured, time-series, ML-based and aggregate data in a unified, dynamically schema’ed abstraction.
- Own components end-to-end, collaborating with Product, Machine Learning and Application teams to understand, define, prioritize and deliver high value capabilities.
- Collaborate with our SRE/DevOps team to plan data services/capacity, vett vendors and commercial offering, and troubleshoot installed systems when required.
- Contribute to group-wide quality, performance and security objectives.
- Help with hiring new engineers and mentoring other engineers across the Technology Team.
