Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience working with college students in an academic counseling capacity or Master's degree in a related field and two years of experience in counseling, group work, assessment and administration of student academic programs.
  • Experience working with educational or co-curricular programs at a college or university.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, and ability to speak effectively to faculty, staff, and student audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple, complex projects at once and meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Advise a caseload of undergraduates from the Patients, Practitioners & Cultures of Care BDP on completing an interdisciplinary plan of study, and help students integrate BDP requirements with degree plans. Advise students on research and internship experiences.
  • Advise prospective students from the Patients, Practitioners & Cultures of Care BDP individually and in groups, coordinate feedback on application essays, and help students define educational and career goals. Contribute to faculty panel meetings and convey faculty feedback to the students. Support outreach efforts to prospective students.
  • Provide coordination for co-curricular activities and community building events for students in the Patients, Practitioners & Cultures of Care BDP, including setting a calendar for activities, planning logistical elements of events, and promoting events to students.
  • Work with the faculty panel chair for the Patients, Practitioners & Cultures of Care BDP to coordinate communication to prospective faculty mentors and to connect students to faculty resources across campus.
  • Serve as an active member of the BDP team. Perform assigned BDP program-related duties, which may include contributing to and coordinating student events; assisting with outreach; and contributing to other projects and advising initiatives as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • More than four years experience working with college students or in an academic counseling capacity.

  • Demonstrated ability to determine and manage priorities.
