ButterflyMX provides a mobile access-control platform for real estate properties that unifies resident, visitor, and delivery entry through a single app. The system connects to a building’s existing hardware and backend systems, enabling remote access management, temporary and visitor permissions via QR codes or delivery PINs, and real-time audit trails. It differentiates itself by installing over existing wiring with only internet, power, and a door strike required, serving multifamily, commercial, student housing, and gated communities with a mobile-first experience. The goal is to simplify building entry, boost security, and improve property-management efficiency across diverse properties and locations.

ButterflyMX integrates with Kwikset UNITE smart locks for seamless access without managed WiFi.

ButterflyMX integrates with Kwikset UNITE smart locks for seamless access without managed WiFi. Used by more than 1 million, including the most trusted names in real estate. Key takeaways. * The integration between ButterflyMX and Kwikset UNITE locks allows residents to unlock their unit doors through the ButterflyMX app, even if you don't have building-wide WiFi. * Compatible with Kwikset UNITE BLE and RFID smart locks, providing a flexible, offline access solution for any multifamily property. * Setup is simple and scalable, empowering operators to manage property-wide access from a single system without the need for additional hubs, gateways, or network infrastructure. At ButterflyMX, its mission is to make property access simple for your staff, residents, and visitors alike. To achieve this, ButterflyMX, Inc. is constantly expanding its ecosystem to include the world's most trusted hardware brands. That's why ButterflyMX, Inc. is excited to announce its integration with Kwikset UNITE smart locks. By combining Kwikset's legendary security hardware with ButterflyMX's industry-leading software, you can now offer a completely keyless living experience at your property, even if you don't have property-wide WiFi. In this post, you'll learn: About Kwikset. Since 1946, Kwikset has been a top-selling U.S. lock brand, protecting millions of families with trusted security. Headquartered in Orange County, California, Kwikset has evolved from traditional mechanical locks to become a leader in smart home technology. Their products are known for durability, style, and innovative features like patented SmartKey Security(R), making them a go-to choice for both residential and commercial needs. What is Kwikset UNITE? Kwikset UNITE is an electronic smart lock solution designed specifically for the unique needs of multifamily property management. While many smart locks on the market require a constant internet connection to function, Kwikset UNITE locks utilize Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and RFID technology. This makes them the ideal solution for properties that: * Don't have building-wide WiFi. * Prefer an offline access solution. * Want to avoid the cost and complexity of installing additional hubs, gateways, or network infrastructure. How the Kwikset UNITE integration works. The integration between ButterflyMX and Kwikset UNITE empowers residents to open doors and gates throughout the property as well as their unit door all from the ButterflyMX app. Residents simply approach their door and use their smartphone to unlock it via Bluetooth. For those who prefer physical credentials, the locks also support RFID fobs. On the administrative side, everything is managed through the ButterflyMX OS. You can grant and revoke access access, track access logs, and manage move-ins and move-outs from a single dashboard from anywhere in the world - no separate lock management software required. Benefits of the ButterflyMX and Kwikset UNITE integration. Integrating Kwikset UNITE with ButterflyMX provides a modern, high-tech experience that benefits everyone at the property. One app for every door. The "app fatigue" is real for residents. This integration eliminates the need for multiple apps. Residents can open the front gate, the elevator, common areas, and their individual unit doors all from the home screen of the ButterflyMX app. No WiFi required. One of the biggest hurdles to adopting smart locks in multifamily housing is the requirement for property-wide WiFi. Kwikset UNITE removes this barrier. Because the locks work offline via BLE and RFID, you can provide a premium smart-lock experience without expensive infrastructure upgrades or connectivity concerns. Simplified property operations. Managing physical keys is a logistical nightmare for staff. With this integration, you can say goodbye to rekeying costs. Property teams can grant or revoke access via the ButterflyMX OS, making the turnover process for new tenants faster and more secure. Boosted NOI and resident satisfaction. Modern residents are willing to pay a premium for convenience and security. By offering a fully keyless experience backed by a trusted name like Kwikset, you'll increase property value, improve resident retention, and boost Net Operating Income (NOI). Trusted security. Kwikset UNITE locks provide the physical durability Kwikset is known for, combined with the encrypted security of ButterflyMX's software. This ensures that the property remains secure while providing the "wow factor" of a modern smart building. How to set up the Kwikset UNITE integration at your property. Setting up the Kwikset UNITE integration with ButterflyMX is designed to be straightforward, requiring no complex wiring or building-wide network overhauls. Follow these four steps to get started: * Install Kwikset UNITE hardware. Work with a certified installer to replace traditional deadbolts or latches with Kwikset UNITE smart locks on unit doors and common area entries. * Connect to ButterflyMX OS. Once the hardware is installed, your ButterflyMX account manager will help you sync the locks with your ButterflyMX OS dashboard. * Configure access levels. From the ButterflyMX OS, you can assign specific access permissions to residents, maintenance crews, and management. * Onboard residents. Residents receive an invitation to the ButterflyMX app. Once they log in, their digital "key" for the Kwikset lock is automatically available on their home screen - no manual pairing required.
