Medical Technologist

Description

Collects, processes, and performs analytical testing on patient specimens. Accurately reports results to the physician for use in the diagnosis, treatment and/or monitoring the treatment of diseases. Assists in the general operation of the laboratory. Participates in laboratory proficiency testing programs, quality assurance programs and in the maintenance of laboratory equipment. Works collaboratively with nursing, providers, and other members of the multi-disciplinary patient-care team. Ability to work alone or as part of a team as required. Maintains compliance with all state, federal, regulatory and accreditation agencies. Assists in Inventory Management, Quality Control data collection and collation, batching of specimens for shipment to reference laboratories and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science. Professional registry certification issued by the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
