Requirements
  • Two or more years of experience as a shop lead or equivalent manufacturing experience is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English is required.
  • Ability to read industrial-specific drawings and specifications is required.
  • Experience working in a safe ISO 9001-certified environment is required.
  • Two or more years of experience with UL and National Electrical Code codes is required.
  • US work authorization without sponsorship is required.
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background checks is required.
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50 pounds or more is required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four or more hours at a time is required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise staff producing manufactured products and organize and monitor workflow.
  • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; coach, counsel, and discipline employees; and initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, train, and mentor employees.
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring and improving processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, and correcting process-control malfunctions.
  • Complete the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting processing-flow results in shift production summaries.
  • Establish and enforce production standards to maintain quality service.
  • Ensure equipment operation by requesting repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Compile, sort, and analyze production performance records and data, and respond to information requests.
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, control forms, budgetary and personnel requirements, and implementing changes.
  • Research new processes and efficiencies to reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on use of control points, equipment, and resources, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain working relationships with union members and representatives in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, benchmarking practices, and professional societies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in the electrical industry is preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience with UL and National Electrical Code codes is preferred.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001-certified environment is preferred.
