Principal Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A) Analyst – Automotive & Energy Business Units
General Summary
The Automotive & Energy Finance team is recruiting for a Lead FP&A Analyst based out of our Headquarters located in Wilmington, MA. Analog Devices Automotive & Energy BUs generate roughly $3B in sales on an annual basis. The Lead FP&A Analyst will provide strong analytical-based decision and reporting support to the ACE & AES BUs. In this role, the individual will be critical in the quarterly projection cycle, and the annual operating plan and the 5 year strategic planning process, acting as Finance’s primary point of contact for revenue related activities. This role will assist in creating the full P&L for ACE and AES BUs and End Markets, working hand in hand with the Leaders of these Business Units also cross-functionally with Corporate FP&A, Global Operations & Test, HR and other various teams within ADI.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monthly Close and Projection Cycle
Responsible for the various monthly close activities to ensure the books are closed in an accurate and timely manner. Beyond the close process and quarterly reporting needs, the individual will be responsible for analyzing and explaining business drivers for the results, offering recommendations for the upcoming projection cycle. Responsible for providing analytical insight regarding financial results, highlighting risks, opportunities, or trends that could impact projections. Understanding “what happened”, “why did it happen” and “what does that mean as we look forward” are important aspects of this role.
Reporting
Drives standardization and simplification throughout the process and reporting needs of the ACE and AES BUs. Reporting spans from weekly revenue calls, quarterly alignment sessions and reports, to the creation of presentations for leadership level audiences.
5 Year Strategic Plan
Leads the BU and Marketing teams in the creation of the 5 year revenue plan, aligning market mega trends and KPIs with Marketing’s TAM and SAM estimates and team’s revenue and Share of Market expectations. Ensuring BU plans are accurately contemplated into the End Markets they support.
Additional Responsibilities
Beyond the items noted above, this role will act as primary backup for BU Controller, as well as a partner to the functional leads in assisting in multiple scenario planning, presentation creation for senior leadership and ad-hoc requests.
COMPLEXITY AND SCOPE:
- Must perform a variety of financial functions including, but not limited to, planning, budgeting, complex financial analysis, and business modeling.
- Must be a self-starter who can deal with ambiguous situations
- Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with executive leadership in both oral and written formats.
- Must be comfortable dealing with multiple agendas and driving decisions through influencing without authority
- Effectively partner with cross functional teams and manage concurrent project timelines with the ability to prioritize accordingly.
- Exceptional data analysis and financial modeling capabilities with a strong understanding of core financial concepts and working knowledge of GAAP.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, MBA preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum 10+ years professional related experience
- Skilled in near term and longer-range P&L budgeting and forecasting techniques and processes.
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities including prior scalable financial modeling
- Ability to take on critical projects, as well as lead multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED):
- 10+ years professional related experience
- Knowledge of SAP preferred
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools (Qlikview, Tableau, PowerBI) preferred
