Job Description

Lilac Solutions is seeking a detail oriented tool crib assistant to help our workshop team keep the pace of our work and our growth. The tool crib assistant will report to the lead machinist/ tooling manager to organize, maintain, and enforce tool control measures and systems. The ideal candidate has experience working in an industrial environment with hand and power tools, as well as operating shop equipment, facilitating tool training, and project consultations. This is a great position for someone that wants to step into a fast growing field and expand their skill set and knowledge base.

Responsibilities

• Inventory, store, and distribute hand and power tools to qualified users.
• Maintain functionality and safe condition by performing tool inspections and maintenance.
• Keep track of workshop consumables and work with the tooling manager to make and track purchases.
• Work closely with the tooling manager to facilitate tool training to establish best practices and continuity of knowledge.
• Assist Lead machinist/ Tooling manager in shop-related projects.

Candidate Qualifications

• Competence and confidence with precision measurement, layout, hand, and power tools.
• At least two years operating metalworking/ woodworking equipment (Band saws, drill press, chop saws, grinders, panel saw, table saw, sheet metal tools, fabrication equipment)
• Familiar with CMMS or ticketing/ tracking software a plus.

Compensation

• Salary range: $22 - $28 Hourly (commensurate with experience)
