Responsibilities
  • Serves as primary portfolio manager for Markets only customers across all FIG subsectors
  • Underwrites all forms of Markets products and related risk exposures for Markets only customers in the FIG subsectors
  • Directs and manages analyst through the credit approval process for credit actions (originations, maturity extensions, modifications, and renewals) for all forms of Markets products
  • Collaborates with Desk Risk Officers, Independent Risk Management, and Documentation Negotiators in the negotiation of all forms of new and amended Markets Products Documentation for nonstandard approvals
  • Conducts annual Risk Profile Assessments for assigned Markets only customers or as otherwise determined by credit policy or business procedures
  • Actively monitors and conducts ongoing surveillance of the financial performance of assigned Markets only customers
  • Assigns risk ratings for Markets only customers and performs quarterly certifications of assigned ratings
  • Reviews and approves key terms grids and SACTs for all forms of Market Products documents for Markets only customers
  • For entire portfolio of FIG customers, monitors exposures versus limits, assessing, researching, and responding to limit breaches and excesses, and providing approval information to Enterprise Counterparty Risk Management (ECRM)
  • For entire portfolio of FIG customers, collaborates with FIG analyst and Secondary Portfolio Manager (where applicable) in processing reallocations of approved but unallocated Markets only exposure with the concurrence of the Primary Portfolio Manager for the FIG Customer
  • Manage time sensitive ad hoc approvals for Markets product risk exposures for FIG customers as directed by the FIG Primary Portfolio Manager or when the Primary Portfolio Manager is unavailable
  • Participates in Documentation Escalation Forum and Elevated Risk Transaction approval meetings for all FIG customers
  • Provide oversight and perspective on broader portfolio and similar transaction/precedents with key terms, e.g. Cross Default/Cross Acceleration, Additional Termination Events, Events of Default and associated cure periods, Collateral posting terms (Minimum Transfer Amount and Independent Amounts in Credit Support Annexes)
  • Collaborates with FIG's Market Products SMEs on sourcing and sharing DocForce reports on credit terms in existing Market Products Documentation
  • Manages the design and execution of bulk approval processes for FIG customers in connection with updated or revised methodologies and model updates cascaded by ECRM
  • Monitors activities of Collateral Management with respect to failed margin calls or disputes and collaborates with Markets Business salespersons and customers in resolving outstanding collateral matters
  • Provides periodic and ad hoc reporting on markets exposures within FIG portfolio, including engagement in ECRM directed stress scenario analysis related to market events
  • Advises on documentation negotiation frameworks to enhance end to end efficiency and promote consistent internal and market aligned approaches; provides input on Wells Fargo form documents and fallback guides across FIG subsectors
  • Actively engages in reviews of Market products related credit policies; cascades relevant input to key stakeholders on proposed revisions; and shares pertinent information with full FIG PM team
  • Subject matter expert on market risk releases, methodology changes, and counterparty credit policy changes that have portfolio management/credit implications
  • Leads and supports training on Markets Products matters (credit approval procedures, documentation, etc.) provided to FIG new hires
  • Engages in special project activity connected with FIG's Markets customers
Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of financial services experience in portfolio management and/or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Experience underwriting financial institutions, including insurance, asset managers, market structure, and specialty finance companies
  • Experience underwriting all forms of Market products
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to thoroughly analyze credits on an independent basis with high attention to detail and accuracy and communicate findings in a concise manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and an ability to effectively multi-task
  • Motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • An ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results
  • Experience with leading and contributing to project teams
