Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university is required.
  • A Professional Engineer designation in the State of Virginia is required.
  • At least 15 years of experience managing substantial stormwater projects from conception to completion is required.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills are required.
  • A successful record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget is required.
  • The candidate must be able to provide oversight and guidance on project management fundamentals.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with technical experts, project teams, and client service managers to advance technical services and support business development on stormwater projects in Virginia.
  • Provide all aspects of engineering for stormwater projects for public and municipal utility district clients.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technical professionals.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, and client agreements.
  • Lead and oversee design and technical aspects of team projects, including detailed engineering design and calculations, report writing, permitting, and client presentations.
  • Write responses to client requests for qualifications and solicitations.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials, and community leaders.
  • Coordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedules.
  • Participate in developing company design and production standards.
  • Direct and manage project implementation, coordinating with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and other internal and external parties to achieve project milestones.
  • Oversee and manage project construction phases to ensure work is completed according to contract documents, on time, and within budget.
  • Participate in professional associations and civic organizations within the community.
  • Support client marketing and business development activities needed to procure project assignments, including developing proposal scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Mentor staff and lead the development of other project managers.
