Mechanical Engineer - Design:
Implementation of engineering changes utilizing Volvo PDM application (KOLA). Execute component implementation into the system through cross-functional coordination with other teams. (Latest: Implementation of new engine and a rear suspension based on a Product Modification Request – PMR) Coordination with Purchasing, Operations, Sales, Custom Engineering teams to implement changes and release them for Production. Promotion of changes performed by Custom Engineering. Design of Clipping and Routing for chassis area following Volvo design guidelines. Wire Harness and power cable routing design for an electric truck. Pneumatic and Hydraulic routings design for standard and customized trucks. Creation of Instructions for Custom Adaptation purposes. Deliver a detailed list of changes to be done to build a product adapted to a unique customer. Design of parts following Corporate Standards. (Structural metal parts and brackets). Support investigation and correction of manufacturing assembly problems. Design and Release of parts following Volvo Product Development Cycle Creation of Method Documents. (Installation documents, Technical Requirements, Rules, etc.). Collaboration with Cab, Styling, Vehicle Architecture, Verification & Validation teams.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering with six (6) months’ experience. 40 hr/wk, $70,886/yr.
