Requirements
  • A proven track record in equipment sales demonstrating the ability to consistently achieve and exceed goals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, inventory and order processing software, and contact management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with varied concrete situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear regularly.
  • Ability to sit frequently and lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to work in environments that may include moving mechanical parts and equipment, elevated or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather, vibration, wet or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, and occasional loud noise.
Responsibilities
  • Increase parts and service sales revenue through customer coverage and parts and service offerings and campaigns.
  • Increase Caterpillar parts market share, measured by Percent of Parts Sales-Cat, through salesmanship, offerings, and campaigns involving Caterpillar parts commodities.
  • Increase labor market share, measured by Percent of Labor Sales, through salesmanship, offerings, and campaigns.
  • Manage a geographical territory of assigned and prospective customer accounts.
  • Use Uptake and OLGA information proprietary software to manage the territory and identify market opportunities.
  • Achieve personal development through goal setting and establishing objectives.
  • Maintain and grow customer relationships throughout the assigned territory.
  • Develop business strategies with Sales Leadership, Sales Team Members, and the Marketing Department to partner with customers.
  • Communicate with various departments to ensure parts and service work is performed as quoted and scheduled.
  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with Caterpillar and its field representatives to support service programs and achieve overall goals.
  • Maintain an active customer call cycle for a diverse customer base, measured by Percent Annual Rate.
  • Maintain accurate customer account information and equipment population in the corporate customer relationship management system.
  • Initiate and complete reports and paperwork detailing customer calls, sales activity, and commission activity.
  • Establish customer relationships as a single point of contact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
