We interconnect with 11,500 networks (ASNs) globally, including major ISPs, cloud services, and enterprises. As of February 2023, we have 192 Tbps of external network capacity.

What you’ll do as a Network Services Solutions Engineer

Together with our Account Executives (AEs); generalist SEs and other teams at Cloudflare you will work with our clients to understand their business needs and properly comprehend their existing IT applications and networking landscape. Based on their requirements, you help our customers to understand how Network Services from Cloudflare can help them become more competitive in the market. Either through the agile nature of our networking, our rapid pace of innovation or great ROI. You know what is needed to create value and make the customer successful.

Responsibilities

You serve as a trusted advisor to our customers; helping them find the best solution for their business needs with Cloudflare’s Network Services.

• Guide qualified prospects through the Solution Design and Proof of Concept stages of sales engagements; showing them the key capabilities of the Cloudflare Network Services portfolio.
• Work with your Sales Partners to consistently achieve Pipeline and Revenue goals
• Understand our customers IT landscape and security requirements and develop an architecture for our customers to support their business needs
• Articulate the benefits of the Cloudflare One product portfolio vs competing solutions
• Promote retention by capturing and communicating gaps in product or features

Skill Requirements

• Curiosity and Learning Agility
• 4+ years of prior Technical Sales, Systems Engineering, or related experience
• Experience interacting with senior level/executives to communicate a message of network and security transformation
• Fundamental understanding of customer network and application architectures.
• Technical curiosity and passion: Cloudflare is at the cutting edge of internet technology. It’s incumbent on us to stay up to date not only with Cloudflare’s specific products, but with industry trends.
• Detailed understanding of workflow from user to application including hybrid architectures with Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Familiar with evolution in networking and security from MPLS to SD-WAN to what is next
• Have a good understanding of how private networking works (MPLS, SDWAN, underlay/overlay, reachability, visibility, on ramping / off ramping, split tunneling).
• Have a good understanding of how the Internet works (BGP, ASNs, Communities, prepending, BGP Features like Allowas-in and AS Override, uRPF, GRE, Peering and Transit, IRRs, RPKI, IXPs, PNIs)
• Routing and switching fundamentals (GRE, IPSec, Subnetting, Prefix terminology, MSS & MTU, VLANs, VRRP, Spanning Tree, Anycast)
• SIEM and log analytics platforms
• Ability to jump in with hands-on configuration when needed
• Ability to manage a project, work to deadlines, and prioritize between competing goals

Other desirable skills areas include:
