Requirements
  • Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate student, or in the first year of a master's program, pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum overall and major GPA of 3.00 is required.
  • Working knowledge of relational database concepts is required.
  • At least 1 year of coding proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Python, R, or SQL, is required.
  • Interest in the insurance industry is required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment and cultivate and maintain positive business relationships is required.
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical aptitude, with the ability to learn quickly and embrace change, are required.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design, development, and integration of strategic, high-priority data applications across the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in building large-scale data processing systems and data lakes optimized for computational and storage efficiency on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Apply technical knowledge to data modeling and best engineering practices.
  • Participate in designing complex physical data models, projects, and cloud-based data lake constructs, including SQL and NoSQL database systems.
  • Work directly with experienced developers to learn Agile programming methodology.
  • Participate in professional and personal development activities and receive ongoing feedback and coaching on performance.

CNA promotes Claire Louko to SVP, North America Reinsurance. CNA Insurance, a U.S. commercial property and casualty insurance company, has promoted Claire Louko to Senior Vice President, North America Reinsurance. Based in Chicago, Illinois, Louko will be responsible for the teams managing reinsurance services, claims, operations, contracts and the firm's corporate insurance programmes, in addition to her current responsibilities for ceded reinsurance placement. She brings nearly two decades of industry experience, with expertise spanning property and casualty insurance, underwriting, commercial insurance, financial risk and more. Louko has spent the past 12 years at CNA Insurance, most recently serving as Vice President, Head of Ceded Re, North America. CNA FINANCIAL ANNOUNCES FIRST QUARTER 2026 NET INCOME OF $0.78 PER SHARE AND CORE INCOME OF $0.83 PER SHARE * Net income of $211 million versus $274 million in the prior year quarter; core income of $225 million versus $281 million in the prior year quarter. * P&C core income of $248 million versus $311 million, reflects lower underlying underwriting results and unfavorable prior period development partially offset by higher net investment income. * Life & Group core loss of $9 million versus core income of $6 million in the prior year quarter. * Corporate & Other core loss of $14 million versus $36 million in the prior year quarter. * Net investment income of $610 million, reflects an $18 million increase from fixed income securities and other investments to $568 million and a $12 million decrease from limited partnerships and common stock to $42 million. * P&C combined ratio of 102.2%, compared with 98.4% in the prior year quarter, including a 3.6 point impact related to catastrophes compared with 3.8 points in the prior year quarter.
