Requirements
  • Associates degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent with at least one year of related experience.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills with proficiency in composition, proofreading, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform all assigned duties.
  • Ability to articulate technical processes and information to a non-technical audience.
  • Travel as part of an installation or restoration team when directed.
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Applicants offered employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age.
  • MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
  • DOE security clearance eligibility and background investigation requirements for access to classified information.
Responsibilities
  • Assisting with data entry, (Footprints, WASP, SOLARWinds), phones, customer request, ticketing workflow in the ECN Network Operation Center (NOC).
  • Assisting Data Department with maintaining procurements, procedures, documents, inventories, and reports to ensure compliance with DOE Orders, Company Procedures, etc.
  • Assist with data entry reports, end-user desktop and service desk support to include, but are not limited to, the installation, operation, builds and maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing of equipment hardware, peripherals, including printers, scanners, and multifunction devices and software.
  • Working with specific task direction and supervision from ECN Technical Staff.
  • Learning basic technical procedures for data-collection and measurement.
  • Work is reviewed by Sr. Level Technical Lead(s) for-overall quality and adherence to procedures.
  • Support National Emergency Response group’s emergency response drills, exercises and real-world events through on-call availability and travel via commercial and military aircraft when required.
  • Travel as part of an installation or restoration team when directed.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform all assigned duties.
  • Ability to articulate technical processes and information to a non-technical audience.
  • Gather the customer’s information, determine the issue and ensure resolution.
  • Performing routine work with supervision.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment and Microsoft Office desired.
  • Technical job/hobby/volunteer experience will be considered.
  • Strong computer skills are desired.
