Job Description Summary:

One of the top strategic priorities for PayPal is to make PayPal available to our consumers wherever they shop – either online or in store, and at the heart for this endeavor is PayPal’s Payments Markets and Partnerships (PMP) team.

The PMP team is responsible for defining and managing the global payment partnerships with the banks, processors, and payment networks that enable the movement of funds into and out of the PayPal system.

The PMP team is seeking a tenacious and creative intern to manage key partnerships with other payment industry giants, in a diverse complex environment. This professional will work collaboratively and cross-functionally across the whole organization to help define and execute the payments strategy leveraging external partners to further PayPal’s strategic business objectives.

You’ll be responsible to build upon PayPal’s strong partnership foundations and help PayPal better serve its customers. You’ll gain significant experience across the partnership lifecycle, from initial strategy, to ongoing partner discussions, contract negotiations/renewals, and product / service enhancements and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage partners through escalations and ensure resolution across partners, merchants, and internal teams.
• Seek constant optimization of our payment solutions, making recommendations to improve approval rates, availability of payments products globally and lowering costs. 
• Understand PayPal’s strategic and competitive position and partner with different teams to deliver best in class solutions.
• Build trust and effective relationships with peers/cross-functional teams, facilitating joint product development, co-marketing, and other opportunities.
• Work with global teams to assess the impact of key Industry trends and changes, share perspective, and seek clarity.
• Build trust and effective relationships with internal cross-functional teams and partner teams

Basic Requirements:

• Energetic, creative, and strong relationship management skills.
• Ability to work in an ambiguous and cross functional environment with proven track record of delivering projects. 
• Strong problem-solving abilities - you can cut through the noise and laser focus on what really matters
