  • Candidates must be able to work in hot and cold conditions, excessive noise, burn and cut hazards, slip and fall possibilities, hazardous materials, hot oil, and food service cooking equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly and courteous service to customers in person and by phone.
  • Maintain a positive work environment.
  • Direct and manage the workforce.
  • Manage personnel, including scheduling, discipline, hiring, firing, and counseling.
  • Conduct business management functions, including profit-and-loss review, inventory, ordering, receiving, sales data review, and staying current with communications.
  • Deliver safe, quality food offerings targeted to customers.
  • Oversee teammate safety.
  • Establish customer service standards for oneself and others.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, cook areas, and backroom in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Follow personal hygiene requirements, time and temperature controls, food handling practices, cross-contamination prevention, and sanitation principles.
  • Operate powered equipment safely after training and handle knives and other sharp utensils safely.
  • Establish product knowledge, suggestive selling, and product sampling to answer customer questions and support product-related decisions.
  • Fill, rotate, and date products properly.
  • Operate meat and cheese slicers, scales, and wrapping equipment as required.
  • Use cooking equipment including fryers, rotisserie ovens, grills, and steamers; fry chicken and use kitchen equipment properly.
  • Ensure food freshness and proper product rotation, and assist with production, packaging, presentation, and restocking.
  • Multitask while keeping the customer as the first priority.
  • Maintain reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred for store or facility teammates.
  • A minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred for Store Support Center teammates.
  • Candidates must be in good standing and not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline.
  • Manager approval based on performance is required if invited for an interview.
