Requirements
  • Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
  • CA Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) within 90 days
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
Responsibilities
  • Performs therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures
  • Provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities
  • Implements the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis and physician orders
  • Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication
  • Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care
  • May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orient other staff to the department
Desired Qualifications
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) preferred
