Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Florida Statute 112.219(6).
  • Completion and passing of a physical exam is required.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • Experience in customer service, high-volume operations, or facilities management, including familiarity with relevant guidelines, regulations, and practices.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts while maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Ability to analyze customer feedback and implement service-quality improvements.
  • Ability to make decisions and function effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and an Integrated Work Management System.
  • Proficiency in electronic communication tools, software, and equipment.
  • Conversational English proficiency for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Ability to prepare reports, inspections, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive matters appropriately.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures relevant to facilities operations.
Responsibilities
  • Process, prioritize, validate, and distribute incoming work requests for campus buildings, residence halls, and apartments through various communication channels.
  • Use standard operating procedures to dispatch work to appropriate teams while balancing urgent and routine demands.
  • Notify the appropriate party to reconcile work requests by understanding intradepartmental responsibilities across the organization.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of work orders in the Integrated Work Management System, including descriptions, priorities, and supporting documents.
  • Receive and report after-hours messages to appropriate University Operations staff to maintain standard operating procedure compliance and customer service standards.
  • Monitor critical systems and respond to alarms, identifying outages to minimize operational impact.
  • Report discrepancies with standard operating procedures and guidelines to the Work Control Dispatcher III.
  • Serve as the initial University Operations advocate during after-hours emergencies and coordinate with essential personnel as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three years of customer service experience, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in high-volume operations or facilities management within large, complex organizations in a service-oriented environment.
  • Experience making decisions and functioning effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience providing training or mentoring to other team members.
