Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or proven exceptional ability through experience.
  • At least 6 years of embedded software development experience with deep expertise in C and real-time operating systems, including TI-RTOS and Zephyr RTOS.
  • Proficiency in Git for version control, collaboration, and maintaining high-quality codebases.
  • Strong skills in Python, Bash, and Linux for scripting and system management.
  • A track record of delivering high-quality, production-grade code with rigorous hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing.
  • Strong systems-level thinking for ultra-low-power wireless designs, supported by solid mathematics and physics fundamentals.
  • The ability to document and communicate clearly to lead, mentor, and align teams.
  • An organized and structured approach to complex project leadership and ownership of work within the broader product context.
  • The ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, industrial design, and verification/validation teams.
  • The ability to adapt, learn, iterate, and innovate in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • The ability to independently research, learn, and solve complex challenges.
  • Experience with schematic capture and board layout using Altium.
  • Familiarity with engineering design and analysis using spreadsheets, including power budgeting and system modeling.
  • Knowledge of ultra-low-power wireless protocols such as IEEE 802.15.4, Bluetooth Low Energy, and 900 MHz wireless.
  • Familiarity with radio-frequency design and compliance testing.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end development of ultra-low-power wireless devices from architecture design through high-volume production.
  • Write and optimize production-ready C code for embedded systems running TI-RTOS and Zephyr RTOS.
  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and refinement of a custom sub-GHz wireless protocol and evaluate technical tradeoffs throughout development.
  • Apply mathematics and physics expertise to power accounting and systems-of-systems optimization in resource-constrained environments.
  • Design and implement hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing frameworks to validate robust, fail-safe code before verification and validation handoff.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and industrial design teams to maintain product vision alignment.
  • Use Git for version control and maintain clean, modular codebases and streamlined team workflows.
  • Use Python, Bash, and Linux to automate workflows, analyze data, and improve development processes.
  • Perform hands-on board bring-up and system debugging to integrate hardware and software.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to product management and leadership.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience setting up and deploying artificial-intelligence-assisted testing systems.
  • Familiarity with the startup environment.
  • Experience interfacing with overseas vendors and supporting the manufacturing process.
  • Background mentoring junior engineers or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Personal projects demonstrating initiative and technical depth.
