SchoolAI is searching for talented Software Engineers to join our Systems Platform team. We believe in working as cross functional teams to build delightful products. You’ll work with a talented team of Product Managers, Infrastructure Engineers, Designers, Data Engineers, and AI/ML Engineers, to produce cutting edge software that’s delightful to use. An ideal candidate understands software development best practices and isn’t fooled into thinking that the outputs of what they build outweigh the outcomes of what they build. They’ll work well with others and be excited about the opportunity to work at an early stage startup.

About the role

• This role REQUIRES strong TypeScript knowledge and expertise
• Work with product management and design roles to understand and empathize with internal and external customer needs
• Build core services to support product feature teams including resource authorization/permissions, roles management and subscription management/entitlements
• Work with data scientists, data engineers, and AI/ML engineers to integrate and implement machine learning models into real world production environments
• Monitor the performance and adoption of what’s built to ensure we are headed in the right direction
• Help us attain absolute stability in our product by owning quality, comprehensive automated test creation, continuous delivery, and staged releases
• Participate in seeking healthy development and collaboration practices as a team
• Consider data privacy and security in everything we do
• Own and architect key components of our CI/CD pipelines and platform engineering efforts

We'd love to hear from you if you:

• Have 3+ years of backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Are familiar with managing and evolving relational database schemas
• You are enthusiastic about Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, and Developer productivity
• Have experience owning quality and writing automated tests
• Have a strong desire to pair program
• Are familiar with GCP, AWS, or an equivalent cloud platform
• Have excellent communication skills, and are enthusiastic about collaborating on and across cross-functional teams
• Are familiar with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), Git/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines (especially GitHub Actions)
