Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities
  • Perform security rounds throughout the hotel, including restaurants, lobby areas, entrances, garages, guest floors, offices, service levels, outside areas, and loading docks.
  • Patrol locations requiring special attention as frequently as possible.
  • Write workers’ compensation incident reports and take appropriate action during medical situations and emergencies.
  • Handle, log, store, and respond to guest requests about lost and found items.
  • Respond immediately to emergency incidents and security requests.
  • Enforce hotel policies and procedures related to safety, security, package passes, entrances, and parking.
  • Report all shift activities in writing and deliver oral reports and emergency notifications according to established security procedures.
  • Check employees entering and leaving the hotel, collect package passes, and inspect parcels removed from the hotel.
  • Monitor delivery security and confiscate unauthorized parcels while notifying the appropriate managers and logging the situation.
  • Check identification of visitors, vendors, and applicants; escort them to appropriate locations; and obtain permission for non-staff personnel to enter the premises.
  • Monitor the employee entrance and check identification cards.
  • Maintain visitor, shift, lost-and-found, and laundry logs, and issue visitor passes.
  • Distribute employee documents or messages as necessary.
  • Secure areas during special events as required by the Director of Engineering and Loss Prevention.
  • Remain at the assigned station unless properly relieved.
  • Perform clerical duties for the Loss Prevention department, including filing, processing work orders, ordering supplies, maintaining schedules, posting bulletin-board information, and cleaning and organizing office areas.
  • Protect the hotel from unauthorized or illegitimate admission.
  • Conduct locker-room inspections and Detex patrols throughout the hotel.
  • Monitor life-safety systems, including fire panels and cameras.
  • Perform investigations as needed.
  • Respond to police and fire department officials in the building.
  • Submit end-of-shift reports.
  • Perform other assignments directed by management.

  • Spanish language ability is a plus.
