Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience training team members or colleagues on administrative duties.
  • Demonstrated experience managing process improvement or change management initiatives.
  • Customer-focused approach for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Evidence of strong project management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze data and trends, compile progress reports, and provide appropriate recommendations or conclusions in support of assigned operational work units.
  • Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and approving hours worked for at least 2.0 full-time equivalent employees.
  • Schedule logistics and secure resources for a designated work unit to support day-to-day operational success.
  • Assist, recommend, and advise staff on unit or program administrative issues, personnel matters, and budgetary problems.
  • Develop, schedule, and prioritize unit or program work plans in accordance with specifications and resource limitations.
  • Implement and execute established policies and procedures for a designated work unit to meet unit objectives and align with established strategies.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of experience supervising others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, and follow through on tasks while working unsupervised.
  • Familiarity with UW-Madison and the School of Medicine & Public Health human resources, faculty affairs and faculty development, educational management systems, research administration systems, purchasing systems, and related policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Qgenda.
  • Experience with electronic medical records such as Epic.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with physicians.
  • Familiarity with Workday, UW-Madison, and School of Medicine & Public Health administrative procedures.
  • Experience working with medical professionals and career promotion requirements within an academic medical center.
