Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurance is required.

Responsibilities
  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
  • Support the Perfect Patient Experience process by helping patients come into the office and ensuring they are comfortable during their visit.
  • Schedule appointments so each healthcare provider has a smooth, productive day.
  • Interact and communicate with patients and guests in the reception area during their wait time.
  • Answer telephones in a timely manner and handle calls efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Complete all tasks on the front office checklist daily.
  • Post payments to patient accounts in accordance with company policies.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in the practice management system for patient registration and electronic check-in, and ensure account information is accurate and up to date for each visit.
  • Check patients in efficiently, obtain necessary consents, promptly notify the back office of each patient's arrival, and present pertinent patient information to the back-office team.
  • Confirm patient appointments according to office confirmation policies or at least two days in advance.
  • Return and resolve patient messages received from the Contact Center in a timely manner.
  • Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Understand business imperatives and how the role directly impacts metrics.
  • Support the PDS Brand framework and make decisions consistent with it.
  • Become knowledgeable about and support clinicians with patient education regarding the Mouth-Body Connection.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies and address others professionally and respectfully.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior coursework or on-the-job training in dentistry, insurance, or business is preferred.
