Requirements
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in construction leading projects.
  • Member of the local sheet metal union in good standing.
  • Deep understanding of related trades including sheet metal, controls, air balance, and general fabrication practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace including Docs, Gmail, Sheets, and Forms.
  • Experience with Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam, and Box.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sites.
  • Ability to travel 75-90% of the time between the primary office, job sites, and regional branch offices.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee operations, strategic planning, and personnel management of General Forepersons and Forepersons within the sheet metal trade for the assigned area.
  • Lead and oversee all sheet metal field activities to ensure standards and productivity goals are met.
  • Assist direct reports with resource management, team selection, project execution strategies, and scheduling.
  • Review weekly project progress, health, and safety reports.
  • Execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control protocols and implement Safety Department protocols.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with construction installations, materials, equipment, and personnel.
  • Mentor, train, and develop supervisors to support succession planning and avoid leadership gaps.
  • Coordinate labor requests with local union labor halls.
  • Manage the hiring and termination of union sheet metal staff within the assigned area.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers on bid strategies, constructability, resource availability, and labor budgets.
  • Partner with regional superintendents to develop best practices, align processes, and leverage resources.
  • Ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated effectively to all field personnel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Member or affiliate of local apprenticeship training programs.
  • Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Experience in remote training software and technologies.
  • Experience with Design and Detailing software including Autodesk Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Collection, Revit, AutoCAD, Assemble, and Navisworks.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management and Project Management platforms such as Bidtracer.
  • Experience with collaboration tools including Smartsheet, Slack, Revitzio, and PlanGrid.
  • Experience with spooling and Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing software such as Revit, E-volve, and Trimble.
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
