Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline is required.
  • At least 8 years of related experience in stormwater and water resources, including design and project management, is required.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, or the ability to obtain registration through reciprocity, is required.
  • Experience interacting with state and federal regulators in the relevant local and technical areas is required.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate effective collaboration with clients, staff, subconsultants, and contractors.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must have a strong understanding of state and federal regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and project management for municipal and private stormwater and water resources projects.
  • Deliver technical project work and design, scheduling, budgeting, and client management as a stormwater and water resources subject matter expert.
  • Supervise and direct technical staff on complex projects and multiple smaller projects.
  • Assist with staff training and technical development through training seminars, technical guidance during project execution, and bringing new technical developments in-house.
  • Assist with strategic planning, training, proposals, and business development.
  • Consult with technical staff and Project Managers on stormwater and water resources challenges and conduct independent technical reviews for other disciplines.
  • Oversee the technical accuracy of projects by communicating with project staff and reviewing plans, specifications, reports, and calculations for compliance with firm standards.
  • Participate in project risk and insurance training to identify potential risks from nonstandard technical matters or legal disputes and minimize firm liability.
  • Present project updates and technical information to clients and at public meetings.
