Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or Doctor of Psychology) for post-doctoral fellowship.
  • Ability to work across multiple geriatric care settings including Assisted Living, Skilled Short-Term Rehabilitation, Long-Term Skilled Nursing, and Secure Dementia/Memory Care units.
  • Flu vaccination required for all GuideStar employees.
  • Drug testing for illegal substances will be administered to final candidates offered employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide evaluation.
  • Establish different diagnoses, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and vascular cognitive impairment.
  • Provide condition-specific supportive therapy, or when indicated, insight-based therapy.
  • Coordinate the patient’s care plan with the facility, primary care physician, and GuideStar colleagues, and engage with the family as indicated.
Desired Qualifications
  • Interest in geriatric psychology, health psychology, and/or neuropsychology.
  • Experience or strong interest in exposure to medical and behavioral health settings.
  • Flexible and willing to accept challenges of an atypical population not found in other settings.
