Requirements
  • Maintain nursing licensure and stays in good standing.
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS Certifications completed within three (3) months of hire.
  • Telemetry Coursework completed within one (1) year of hire.
  • NIHSS certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Active Washington State License or a Multi-state license.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform the required technical skills for a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of professional nursing care with the goal of safe and effective patient care.
  • Gathers information to formulate a patient care delivery plan based on nursing assessment, utilizing evidenced based practices.
  • Makes decisions based upon appropriate stewardship and professional nursing judgment, to establish an effective plan of care for each individual patient.
  • Collaborates to promote a therapeutic relationship with patients and colleagues and maintains a professional attitude.
  • Actively promotes and contributes to a positive work environment and encourages equitable division of workload with team.
  • Stays accountable with changes in professional nursing and hospital policy.
  • Completes regulatory and departmental annual competencies within the timeframe set by the organization.
  • Demonstrates work effectiveness through safe completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner and uses appropriate delegation to assist in patient care.
  • Follows high-reliability practices set by the organization and report safety concerns.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement projects throughout the organization to support a safe work environment.

Pullman Regional Hospital hires Craig Carstens, MHPA, as Chief Financial Officer. PULLMAN - Pullman Regional Hospital has hired Craig Carstens, MHPA, as its new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Steve Febus, who served in the role for more than 30 years. Carstens brings over 15 years of progressive financial leadership across hospital and clinic settings, including critical access hospitals and multi-site rural health systems. Prior to joining Pullman Regional, Carstens served as CFO, CIO, and Compliance Officer at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, IA, managing strategic financial planning, capital investment strategies, and revenue cycle enhancements. He has also served as CFO at Osceola Regional Health Center, and as Director of Financial Operations at Mercy Medical Center. Carstens holds a Master of Health Policy and Administration from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Business Economics with a minor in Accounting from South Dakota State University. He specializes in leveraging data and analytics to improve financial decision-making, operational efficiency, and alignment with mission-driven care delivery. "Craig brings strong educational credentials, extensive experience, and deep financial acumen across multiple healthcare organizations, with a particularly strong background in rural healthcare," said Matt Forge, CEO of Pullman Regional Hospital. "His skills and leadership will undoubtedly be a huge addition to our team." Carstens will oversee the hospital's financial strategy and operations, ensuring resources are effectively managed to support clinical services, facility development, and long-term sustainability. Pullman Regional Hospital nurse kinsey Dewan receives DAISY Award. Kinsey Dewan, a Registered Nurse at Pullman Regional Hospital's BirthPlace, has been honored with a DAISY Award, part of an international recognition program celebrating compassionate nursing care. Dewan joined Pullman Regional as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2020 and has spent five years providing maternity and newborn care at BirthPlace. The award came from a patient who praised Dewan's kindness and competence during the birth of her second child. When the baby experienced breathing complications, Dewan provided reassuring support throughout the challenging experience. "I work with the best people," Dewan said. "We have such a broad range of skills - every day is a different day, and I love that I get to be part of a patient's experience through every phase of care."
