Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least two years of related manufacturing experience is required; an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices is helpful but not required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of troubleshooting is required.
  • Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction, are required.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new applications and programs are required.
  • Shift flexibility and the ability to work overtime are required.
Responsibilities
  • Safely operate highly automated and technical contact lens manufacturing equipment from multiple vendors throughout the manufacturing process, including lens manufacturing, packaging and inspection, in-process inspection and audit, and sterilization.
  • Perform work according to established work instructions, standard operating procedures, and procedures, and provide written input for continuous improvement of troubleshooting and operating procedures.
  • Independently identify, diagnose, correct, and document process trends, faults, and problems using detailed troubleshooting procedures to maximize automation reliability.
  • Communicate troubleshooting activities appropriately.
  • Perform in-process quality inspections using inspection tools, including visual inspection, to assess product quality.
  • Follow quality procedures and accurately complete documentation to maintain compliant quality records.
  • Escalate issues to the Team Leader or Group Leader, maintenance, or engineering, and interface with support personnel regarding operational and technical issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, testing schedules, maintenance schedules, and production schedules.
  • Provide feedback for daily production reports and shift logs, including shift performance, accomplishments, and ongoing issues; coordinate, write, and distribute shift logs as needed.
  • Review production reports and shift logs to understand process events occurring outside assigned work hours.
  • Perform corrective and preventative equipment maintenance in cooperation with plant maintenance and other shifts as needed.
  • Work independently and in a team environment, participating in production meetings, training, and shift crossover activities.
  • Share job knowledge and train new and existing team members on manufacturing processes and safety protocols.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives across multiple production areas to improve team flexibility and workflow.
  • Follow all safety procedures and practices.

  • An associate degree or technical certification in a related electrical, mechanical, or engineering field is preferred.
