Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience is required.
Experience configuring and administering PowerHA versions 5.1, 5.2, and 6.1 is required.
Experience installing and configuring AIX versions 5.3, 6.1, and 7.1 and AIX servers is required.
Experience supporting, maintaining, upgrading, and patching the AIX operating system is required.
Experience with Shell and Perl scripting is required.
Experience setting up networking services and protocols on AIX, including NIS/NFS, DNS, SSH, DHCP, and TCP/IP, is required.
Experience managing HMC on System p5-570, p6-570, p7-770, and p5-595 systems, including LPAR creation, is required.
Experience installing and configuring Virtual I/O environments, including server and client creation and partition profiles, is required.
Experience with VIOS version 2.2 is required.
Experience installing and configuring NIM master servers and clients is required.
Experience creating LPP sources and SPOTs for NIM clients and installing operating systems on NIM clients using a NIM server is required.

Responsibilities

Support the AIX operating system for various software applications.
Maintain and upgrade the AIX operating system.
Install and test AIX operating system patches.
Develop procedures for AIX security and management.
Update standard policies based on environmental changes and audit results.
Perform performance maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability.
Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
Configure and administer PowerHA.
Set up networking services and protocols on AIX to ensure optimal networking and application functionality.
Plan and execute AIX projects within approved timelines.
Analyze software and hardware environments to determine system defects.
Maintain documentation of AIX hardware and software components and user and operator procedures.
Detect and troubleshoot system operational and functional issues.
