Requirements
  • A High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience is required.
  • No prior experience is required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • The employee must be able to stand and walk constantly; lift, carry, push, and pull objects; reach and grip; use near and far vision and depth perception; identify and distinguish colors; and perform the listed occasional and rare physical activities.
  • The employee must be able to hear alarms and malfunctioning machinery and use oral communication to share information.
Responsibilities
  • Check, clean, and maintain anesthesia machine monitors, including changing oxygen cylinders, refilling anesthesia gases, changing carbon dioxide absorbent, and ensuring equipment is in good working order.
  • Assist with anesthesia equipment setups as needed.
  • Order, obtain, and stock sterile solution surgical supplies in specified storage cabinets, including automated dispensing systems and cabinets.
  • Order and maintain supply inventories in anesthesia and related areas and ensure anesthesia carts are appropriately stocked.
  • Ensure malfunctioning equipment is serviced and that infection-control and regulatory guidelines are followed.
  • Assist with operating-room turnover by disinfecting anesthesia work surfaces and monitor cables and connecting a clean anesthesia circuit to the anesthesia machine.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
