Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related scientific field is required.
  • Experience in environmental field sampling, inspections, field investigations, or data collection is preferred, while entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with soil, groundwater, air, drinking water, radon, building material, mold, or other environmental sampling is required or beneficial.
  • Knowledge or experience related to Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental due diligence, construction-related environmental work, industrial hygiene, or hazardous materials is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document and collect field data are required.
  • The candidate must be able to write technical reports and communicate findings clearly.
  • Microsoft 365 proficiency is required.
  • A 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license, good driving history, and reliable personal transportation are required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental field investigations and collect soil, groundwater, air, drinking water, radon, building material, and other environmental samples.
  • Perform field reconnaissance and support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Support environmental projects at commercial construction sites, including construction-based fieldwork and field investigations.
  • Conduct hazardous materials building surveys, including asbestos-related inspections and assessments.
  • Perform water damage assessments, mold inspections, and mold sampling.
  • Support asbestos abatement projects through monitoring and field observations.
  • Gather, document, upload, analyze, and interpret field data and observations.
  • Prepare technical reports and enter data into established project templates.
  • Maintain and organize field equipment and supplies.
  • Follow project scopes, safety procedures, and technical guidance from project managers and senior staff.
  • Work primarily in the field, with office work in Rockville for data uploads, equipment collection, report preparation, and project support.
  • Participate in emergency response work, which may occasionally require off-hours or weekend availability.
  • Support commercial, industrial, and government environmental and industrial hygiene projects throughout the DMV area.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience or coursework related to Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental due diligence, or construction-related environmental work.
  • Experience or knowledge of industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, or environmental sampling.
  • Certifications such as Asbestos Inspector, HAZWOPER, or NIOSH 582.
