Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle reconditioning and preventative maintenance on pre-owned inventory, including oil changes, tire replacement and rotation, wheel balancing, brake services, battery replacement, filter replacement, and tune-ups.
  • Conduct comprehensive multi-point inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and safety concerns on used vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and drivability issues.
  • Ensure vehicles meet dealership, manufacturer, and state safety standards prior to sale.
  • Verify vehicle serviceability through road tests and adjust controls and systems as needed.
  • Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently in the CDK system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while properly using shop tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with service advisors, the parts department, and used car management to meet reconditioning timelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and certifications as required.
  • Move and park vehicles throughout the dealership and outdoor lot as needed.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance and work scheduled shifts that may include evenings, Saturdays, and holidays.
Desired Qualifications
  • Automotive trade school education is preferred.
