Responsibilities
  • Implement performance goals and objectives for the editorial team
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Develop and implement performance improvement plans
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure team objectives are met
  • Collaborate with other departments to align editorial goals with overall company strategy
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Address performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Support editorial leadership to coordinate the daily operations of the newsroom
  • Ensure production, communications and Standards processes are followed, and stories adhere to ethical, journalistic and house standards
  • Support in developing and executing newsroom strategies and processes in line with Newsweek’s editorial and company objectives
  • Ensure staff are following established 1:1 Performance review procedures, including Standards feedback to relevant editors and staff
  • Conduct / organise training for staff on all tools and systems used in the newsroom
  • Ensure production workflow tools are correctly used and up to date
  • Support other Newsweek bureaus’ editorial operations where required
  • Any other reasonable duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business
