🔍 About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Team Lead to guide a team of 3-5 talented engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP, Laravel, and Vue.js, with extensive experience in AWS cloud services. You will play a crucial role in cross-team collaboration, architecting scalable solutions, optimizing performance, and leading your team to deliver high-quality software that can handle our growing user base and data demands.

🗺️ Location

This is a remote position. You would need to be available within our core working hours Mon-Fri 9:00am-12:00pm ET to ensure sufficient cross-over with the team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead by example in coding best practices and software development methodologies.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
Architect and implement scalable solutions for high-traffic applications and large databases.
Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software applications.
Collaborate with the team to solve complex technical challenges.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.
Participate in planning and design sessions, offering technical insights.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Propose and implement improvements to existing systems and processes.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues promptly.
Contribute to the development of best practices and tools to enhance team productivity.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong proficiency in PHP and the Laravel framework.
Experience with Vue.js for front-end development.
In-depth knowledge of AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
Proven experience with high-traffic applications and large-scale databases.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor other engineers.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of when to prioritize building things correctly versus building them quickly.
Familiarity with Agile/Kanban methodologies.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
