Requirements
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Experience using basic shop hand tools is required.
  • Ability to work on feet for 8 hours is required.
  • Ability to work independently and safely is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures are required.
  • The candidate must understand quality control principles.
  • The candidate must be detail focused.
  • The candidate must work well independently and in a team environment.
  • The candidate must possess good communication skills.
  • The candidate must be highly organized and able to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
Responsibilities
  • Work in a laboratory setting fabricating custom upper extremity prosthetic devices and orthotic devices.
  • Configure and construct devices to specifications established by a physician or other health care provider.
  • Use tools and precision instruments to achieve customized fit, optimal function, and maximum patient comfort.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble defective or worn devices or appliances.
  • Collaborate with the clinician.
  • Interpret technical documents such as diagrams, schematics, and verbal or written instructions.
  • Ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, custom fixtures, drill presses, arbor presses, ovens, heat guns, and other light-duty equipment.
  • Perform sewing and/or plastic thermoforming when needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as an orthotic/prosthetic technician is preferred.

Hanger acquires Liberating Technologies to advance prosthetic research and development

Hanger, Inc., a leading orthotic and prosthetic patient care provider, has acquired Liberating Technologies, Inc. (LTI), a research organisation founded in 2000 and previously owned by Coapt. LTI's research team has secured numerous government-funded grants since 2008 to develop next-generation technologies for the orthotic and prosthetic field. LTI will join Hanger Ventures and the Hanger Institute for Clinical Research and Education to drive innovation in clinical care. The team will continue current grant-funded initiatives, including advancing voice-recognition technology for prosthesis control and developing socket cooling systems for residual limb skin health. Hanger acquired Coapt, LTI's previous owner, in 2025. With this acquisition, the complete Coapt portfolio now belongs to Hanger, which operates more than 925 clinic locations across the United States.
