*The Department of Computer Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for multiple, full time, Assistant Professor–In-Residence position commencing Fall 2025. 

ROLE of the POSITION

Responsibilities may include teaching, advising and mentoring students, course development, and engaging in service activities at the department, college, university, and community levels. This position is housed within the Department of Computer Science in the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering. The Department of Computer Science is one of the fastest growing departments at UNLV.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Ph. D in Computer Science from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

The position is a non-tenure track (without the ability to switch to tenure track) and will require expertise in teaching a wide variety of courses in computer science.

In addition, the position requires participation in advising undergraduate students, in the development of courses and curriculum, in projects/lab supervision and management, in service by participation in shared governance, and in grant writing for education, interdisciplinary and teaching-focused grants.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior teaching experience will be given preference.
