  • Current sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student studying Finance, Economics, Business Insurance, Business Management or related program
  • Prior experience in a business setting
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to measure and evaluate data
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with the business areas
  • Ability to see a task through to completion independently and as a team member
  • Ability to travel to Des Moines, Iowa office
Responsibilities
  • What competitive pressure will Wellmark face in the future? How can we address the shifting health care landscape through the products and services we offer?
  • As costs continue to increase, what steps can Wellmark take to stabilize prices for our members? How are our competitors doing this?
  • Based on competitive position, market trends and other factors, help determine how Wellmark membership might change over time
  • Using proprietary data, predict the needs and behaviors to identify certain personas of Wellmark's largest clients to inform sales and product strategy
  • Support other in-flight projects
Desired Qualifications
  • Concentration, Minor, or emphasis in Finance or analytics-related program
  • Interest in product development, competitive intelligence and strategy required
  • Focus in other business-related areas considered
  • Data analytics knowledge required
