Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience coordinating or managing events, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting.
  • A high level of organization and attention to detail, strong interpersonal and professional communication and writing skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
  • Experience drafting external and internal communications, briefings, social media content, and email blasts.
  • Experience with Zoom webinars, contact management software, Canva, and Google Suite.
  • The ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfort with international travel of up to 20% and working evening and weekend events as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Manage execution of Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security events, including agenda design, securing and liaising with high-level speakers, collaborating with event partners, reserving venues, invitation outreach, briefing participants, day-of staffing, and other event-planning duties.
  • Collaborate with Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security and Georgetown colleagues on event promotion and media, protocol and security, budgets, and contracts.
  • Arrange event participant transportation and lodging as needed.
  • Create, maintain, and promote event content across calendars, websites, and newsletters while working closely with the communications team.
  • Maintain contact databases and create or update mailing lists.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in diplomatic environments and knowledge of international affairs or gender issues.
