The Renewal Manager will manage a rapidly growing book of renewal business across Cowbell’s cyber insurance products. They will be responsible for a team of Renewal Account Executives (R-AEs) that are the first point of contact for brokers in their assigned territories. They will coach and guide R-AEs to better nurture relationships with agents and brokers, and ensure that Cowbell remains the number one option for retaining business. They are able to put together a strategy for the region that has the most significant impact on our retention goals. They are able to identify and overcome obstacles and challenges, identify opportunities for further growth, and create awareness of Cowbell’s key strategic advantages.
What you will do:
Manage a team of Renewal Account Executives that execute Cowbell’s renewals strategy.
- Develop a strategy for proactively ensuring renewal business remains with Cowbell.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Renewal Account Executives to enhance their skills and improve their process.
- Work closely with new business sales and underwriting team members
- Implement and maintain a team structure to ensure all objectives are covered by R-AEs.
- Act as a point of escalation for questions, concerns, and decisions that require manager intervention or approval.
- With limited direction and independently, solve problems and adapt strategies to meet changing market conditions.
- Become a cyber expert, validating our partner agencies’ trust in Cowbell.
- Set and monitor weekly, monthly and annual activity metrics.
- Collaborate with a passionate team, have fun, grow, learn, and teach the company along the way.
- Be a point of accountability for retention success.
What Cowbell needs from you:
- 5+ years of insurance experience in an account management, distribution, or underwriting function, preferably with a wholesaler, carrier or broker
- 2+ years experience of team management experience with increasing responsibility.
- 2+ years experience in working with cyber and/or tech E&O insurance lines
- Proven ability to grow and develop team members.
- Ability to analyze results, identify areas of improvement, and make strategic decisions.
- Proven track record of working with and strengthening high-impact broker relationships.
- Prior experience and success in account retention.
