The CLDP program at Alcon is seeking 2024 (Graduate degree level) Summer interns. Interns will work on key Alcon Commercial projects. The Alcon Surgical business is the industry leader in providing surgical equipment and implants for ophthalmic surgery. In the US, the Integrated Equipment Team is responsible for managing all aspects of the equipment used in cataract surgeries, including diagnostic devices used in the clinic and operative devices like microscopes and surgical lasers in the operating room.
The Alcon Surgical Integrated Equipment Team Summer Intern will have a true Assistant Brand Manager experience, balancing at least two main projects, each with the opportunity to change/improve the way we manage the Integrated Equipment brands. The Summer Intern will execute the following projects:
- Project 1: Sales program optimization. Each brand runs several programs designed to facilitate conversion of competitive equipment to Alcon. The intern will have the opportunity to review recent sales, determine which programs are working well and make a recommendation to leadership of how we can optimize or supplement our programs to increase performance. Deliverables include an analysis of competitive device replacements across all brands and a final presentation to leadership with a recommendation.
- Project 2: Demo pool optimization. One of the most significant investments Alcon makes in promoting our Integrated Equipment brands is the “pool” of devices available to the sales team to conduct on-site demonstrations/evaluations. Creating, maintaining and utililizing these devices most effectively is critical to each brand’s success, but different types of challenges prevent us from getting the most out of this valuable sales tool. The intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the team that manages the demo pool to identify improvement opportunities. Deliverables include an analysis of common challenges and potential impact on sales, as well as a final presentation to leadership with a recommendation.
Location: Internship will be located at our US headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.
