Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in media relations, corporate positioning, and product positioning, ideally in an agency.
  • A university degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or another relevant field.
  • Excellent knowledge of the media ecosystem in Quebec and Canada.
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English to prepare communications for different audiences and collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and sister companies in Canada and internationally.
  • Ability to maintain rigorous client follow-up and coordinate multiple mandates simultaneously.
  • Comfort with digital and artificial-intelligence tools, media monitoring, and current communications practices.
  • Rigor, sense of responsibility, and consistent focus on quality.
  • Strong instincts in media relations and project management.
  • Curiosity, judgment, and a nuanced understanding of current events, trends, and client environments.
  • Autonomy, proactivity, and ability to identify opportunities quickly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including some with short deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to developing and deploying product and corporate media-relations programs for clients in various sectors.
  • Identify relevant angles, media opportunities, and positioning approaches based on client objectives.
  • Maintain regular relationships with media outlets, journalists, columnists, content creators, and opinion leaders relevant to the mandates.
  • Maintain active knowledge of the media ecosystem in Quebec and Canada, particularly in business, consumer products, and lifestyle sectors.
  • Contribute to managing the reputation and positioning of products, brands, and organizations in varied contexts.
  • Participate in managing multiple communications programs simultaneously, including monitoring, media relations, follow-ups, reports, partnerships, and related deliverables.
  • Rigorously track priorities, timelines, and deliverable quality.
  • Collaborate closely with the existing team and NATIONAL's other areas of expertise as required by the mandates.
  • Actively contribute to mandate execution from planning through delivery, becoming involved wherever this creates the greatest impact.
  • Participate in identifying business-development opportunities with existing or prospective clients.
