Requirements
  • An associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, Electronics, Mechanics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated industrial equipment in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or similar environments.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and programmable logic controller systems.
  • Previous experience reading electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Ability to safely work at heights up to 40 meters (131 feet); required training, including heights rescue training, will be provided.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for up to three consecutive weeks, one to two times annually, for training, commissioning, or technical support.
  • Ability to obtain required safety certifications, including Lockout/Tagout, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Availability to work a fixed 12-hour day or night shift on a 2-2-3 schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, predictive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance on automated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, programmable logic controller, robotics, and automation systems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues using programmable logic controller software, human-machine interfaces, industrial networks, electrical schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Optimize equipment settings to improve reliability and performance and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, Plan-Do-Check-Act, and other structured problem-solving methods to eliminate recurring failures.
  • Document maintenance activities and corrective actions within the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and startup activities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, suppliers, and original equipment manufacturers to implement sustainable equipment improvements.
  • Train and mentor maintenance team members while supporting continuous improvement, Total Productive Maintenance, Lean, and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with LEGO safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout, and participate in required technical and safety training.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience supporting highly automated manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling systems.
  • Experience with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems, conveyors, robotics, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Automated Guided Vehicles, or similar automation technologies.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable programmable logic controller platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting variable-frequency drives, servo systems, industrial networks, and automated controls.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Experience serving as a technical mentor or lead technician.
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, Electromechanics, or a related technical discipline.

Lego unveils SMART Play Gateway at San Diego Comic-Con with interactive Pokémon and Star Wars experiences

The LEGO Group unveiled the LEGO SMART Play Gateway at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, an interactive booth experience featuring two immersive destinations. Attendees can explore a LEGO Pokémon Lab and a Mos Eisley Cantina recreation, both powered by SMART Play technology. The SMART Play platform centres on the SMART Brick, a 2x4 brick containing over 20 patented technologies that enable real-time interactive play through motion sensing, light and sound synthesis. The company also revealed new sets at the event. The LEGO Icons Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge, a 1,701-piece set priced at $199.99, launches 1 September exclusively at LEGO stores and online. The LEGO Donkey Kong Arcade, also $199.99, becomes available 1 August. Lego hits record $12.9B in sales by adapting factories to tariffs
