Requirements
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completed residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • Completed fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI).
  • Board certified in OB/GYN (ABOG); board certified or board-eligible in REI.
  • Active, unrestricted Florida medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Active DEA registration in good standing.
  • Clean National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) record — no material disciplinary actions, license restrictions, or unresolved malpractice claims.
  • Eligible for hospital privileges at affiliated Miami-area facilities.
  • Current malpractice coverage (or insurability) at or above Florida and Sphere minimums.
  • Minimum 7+ years of post-fellowship REI practice, with a track record as a primary attending.
  • Demonstrated independent volume across IVF, IUI, egg freezing, embryo transfer, and ovarian stimulation.
  • Proficiency in transvaginal ultrasound, oocyte retrieval, and fresh and frozen embryo transfer.
  • Experience with third-party reproduction: donor eggs, donor sperm, and gestational carriers.
  • Fluency with PGT-A/PGT-M workflows and close coordination with embryology.
  • SART-reportable outcomes at or above national age-stratified benchmarks; strong management of OHSS and multiple-pregnancy risk.
  • Prior role as Medical Director, Lab Liaison, Practice Lead, or equivalent — or clear readiness to step into that scope.
  • Experience building or meaningfully upgrading protocols, SOPs, or quality programs.
  • Track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining clinical talent.
  • Comfort with P&L awareness, productivity-based compensation structures, and operating within a venture- or family-office-backed practice.
  • Comfort and polish in front of patients, press, and referral partners — media-trained preferred.
  • Publications, conference presentations, or teaching appointments that establish thought leadership.
  • Active in ASRM, SREI, or equivalent professional societies.
  • Deeply patient-centered; longer consults and direct patient access energize you rather than drain you.
  • Collaborative with embryology, genetics, nursing, mental health, and operations peers.
  • Evidence-based and protocol-driven, with the intellectual honesty to update practice as the science evolves.
  • Cultural competency for a diverse Miami patient base; Spanish fluency is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-touch reproductive care across IVF, IUI, egg and embryo freezing, donor cycles, gestational carrier cases, and fertility preservation.
  • Personally perform oocyte retrievals, embryo transfers, and complex monitoring; own a manageable caseload consistent with a concierge model.
  • Manage complex and sub-specialized cases, including DOR, PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, male factor, and reproductive immunology referrals.
  • Define and maintain stimulation protocols, lab SOPs, and quality metrics in partnership with the embryology and nursing leads.
  • Serve as the final clinical authority for the Miami flagship; recruit, mentor, and evaluate future REIs, fellows, NPs, and nursing staff as the practice grows.
  • Own outcomes reporting (SART, CDC) and drive continuous improvement against age-stratified benchmarks.
  • Partner with the Lab Director on IVF lab design, equipment selection, and commissioning of the in-house embryology lab.
  • Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, FDA, and state requirements; lead audit readiness and accreditation workstreams.
  • Shape EMR configuration, clinical workflow design, and patient journey mapping alongside the operations team.
  • Serve as the clinical face of the Miami flagship — patient events, media appearances, podcast guesting, and physician referral-building.
  • Contribute to content, education, and peer-reviewed publications that establish Sphere’s clinical credibility.
  • Collaborate with the founding team on expansion strategy, including future flagships and clinical affiliations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Sub-expertise in fertility preservation, oncofertility, LGBTQ+ family building, or reproductive immunology.
  • Active IRB-approved clinical research or published original research in the last 3 years.
  • Existing Miami- or Florida-based referral network.
  • Prior experience opening a de novo clinic or lab.
