ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support cross-functional, global privacy initiatives across the company.
- Provide day-to-day privacy support that includes assessing data privacy risks and advising on compliance strategies and solutions.
- Assess and advise on privacy matters related to supplier and other strategic partner relationships.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop data maps, conduct data protection impact assessments, and create/maintain accurate and auditable records of processing activities for the Company’s data activities.
- Help define and drive data privacy policy and practices across Western Digital
- Drive awareness across Western Digital to promote and facilitate privacy and data protection compliance and best practices.
- Respond to internal and external privacy and data protection inquiries.
- Monitor privacy trends across markets to determine trends and issues for the company to address.
- Provides support to the overall Ethics & Compliance program.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Three or more years of privacy work experience either in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM)
- Strong knowledge of global privacy and data security requirements, particularly CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, PIPL, and PIPEDA
- Experience drafting and negotiating Data Processing Agreements
- Experience developing and conducting general and role-specific privacy training
- Experience with developing and implementing privacy projects across multiple groups
- Experience advising clients on international privacy regulations and requirements

- Ability to work with minimal supervision and interact comfortably and effectively with people in various roles and levels
