Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Intermediate to advanced construction, painting, plumbing, electrical, and welding skills.
  • Ability to safely and properly use hand tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are worked simultaneously.
  • Ability to work flexible and adaptable schedules, including occasional overtime.
  • Ability to use computers and computer systems, including hardware and software, to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to safely ambulate and maneuver when on-site at company locations.
  • Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to gain, understand, and apply information and data related to the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work indoors in a climate-controlled environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work with and near chemicals in a controlled environment.
Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain campus buildings and surrounding structures by performing moderately difficult skilled-trade work in construction, plumbing, electrical wiring, welding, HVAC, and related maintenance activities.
  • Determine the best methodology and materials necessary to complete maintenance assignments.
  • Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Perform and log safety and preventative maintenance tasks according to a schedule or checklist.
  • Notify management when major repairs are needed.
  • Assist in training other maintenance personnel in basic construction, plumbing, electrical, welding, and related maintenance skills.
  • Set up classrooms and auditoriums for campus functions.
  • Adhere to standard safety practices, including wearing gloves, glasses, and other appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment and welding equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
