Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline
  • An obvious interest in, and passion for, clean technology development
  • Some experience of the nuclear industry would be desirable - but not essential
  • A technical interest (ideally matched to your Degree/Masters/PhD) in one or more of the following disciplines: Safety Case Development, Project Management, Radioactive Waste Management, Decommissioning, Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning, Radiation Protection, Hazards and Risk Assessment, Project Controls, Stakeholder Liaison
  • Strong writing and communication skills and an ability to engage with academic, commercial, and engineering stakeholders
  • A professional qualification or desire to get a chartered status with a relevant institute
  • Self-motivated team player and a willingness to learn!
Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Safety and Licensing in all matters relating to the licensing process
  • Support other senior team members in their roles, such as site development and organizational development
  • Attend regulatory meetings with the Office of Nuclear Regulation and the Environment Agency to support project delivery
  • Undertake specific technical tasks and projects (depending on background) to further progress SMR deployment in Europe
  • Support the development of and management of the project risk register and other project controls
